Serenity

To me, serenity means a place where I feel calm. The most peaceful place I visit every night is my bed. On my bed frame is a collection of things I love from places I’ve been, including a genie lamp I got in Egypt, a wooden mannequin and letter board from Amsterdam, a poster from San Fransisco, a book of my favorite polaroids, and other collectables I’ve gotten over the years. Laying in my bed with all these objects holding good memories gives me a feeling of serenity and security. For this image, the shutter speed is 1/32, F4, and ISO is 800.

#NoFilter

getting dinner with my parents in monterey.

My parents and I took a day off to go to Monterey this week. I took this photo of them with our amazing food at the Old Fishermans Wharf. The food they got matches their personalities. I really like the lighting and exposure on this photo, so I didn’t think it needed any editing. Aperture is F4.5, shutter speed 1/32, and ISO is 200.

Anonymous

two people looking off into the distance trying to find fishies.
who are they?

To me, anonymous means hidden/unknown. I decided to take a picture of this couples’ back profile looking into the aquarium, so you’re unable to see their faces, you don’t know who they are. I used the rule of thirds to frame them. They’re looking through the large window panes into the water filled with kelp and many different types of fishies. It gives off the anonymous feel because you don’t know how they’re feeling, and you have no idea what these people look like. In this image, the aperture is F4.5, the shutter speed is 1/50, and ISO200.

Trash

under water, trash used as the fish habitat.

This is a picture of the habitat for some fish at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. Many things are dumped into the ocean, and that trash becomes part of the fishes habitat. In this small aquarium, they tried to replicate what it’s like in the ocean. Junk can provide hiding places for many creatures. Some pieces of trash that get left in the ocean that are shown in this photo is a cone, a tire, sunglasses, a mini blow up soccer ball, a water bottle, snorkeling gear, jars, and more. In this image, my aperture was f4, my shutter speed was 1/20, and ISO1600.

White Balance

shadow light

This is a fish habitat with purple rocks and green plants. The original photo was really vibrant but I changed the white balance and now the colors suit each other. For this image, the aperture is F4, shutter speed is 1/32, and ISO is 800.

Weight or Mass

a brass tree just standing alone
tree of life

Outside of the library in Oro Valley, Tuscon, I ran into this huge brass tree. There’s a big contrast between this brass sculpture and the nature behind it, but the brass sculpture also tried to resemble the nature, I think it’s really interesting. In the image, the aperture is F9, shutter speed is 1/165, and ISO is 100.

Mood

my cousin in front of a pink sign with grafitti lettering "love"

As you can probably read from the graffiti lettering, the mood of this image is love. The pink paint in the background is a valentines color, which is a holiday of love. The person on the right of the image is my cousin Emily, someone in my family who I love very much. In this image, aperture is F2.8, shutter speed 1/500, and ISO is 200.
