In the Zenith, the students were given full freedom. This was the big one, the project that lets the students at Freestyle Academy apply any of the skills they’ve learned in the past 2 years in to one project. We got to choose our own topic, our style, and what we wanted to do.
What I did
I chose to do a skit connecting myself to the Humor project that was done in english. So the results of my Humor and Zenith came together to be one. I decided to take skills from film and applied it to my zenith dramatically. I did Pro-production, Production, and post production for this project. There was script writing, story telling, and a lot of film techniques applied to this project personally. It was a 5 minute long skit that me and Louie did one “How not to get Cancelled in 2021”. I thought it was very funny the way we did it and we were both able to mock certain crazy people that we’ve seen across the media and the news over the past year and half.
The process.
We first wrote a script summary about how the video would go. We chose what the topics we wanted to talk about and how specific we wanted to do them.
We then had to create specifics lines that the characters in our video had to say, me and louie sat down and wrote down what needed to be said.
We then moved on to the filming part, which we had a 4 hour shoot to get all the shots that we needed for the skit.
I moved to editing, which was a long process to put all the clips together, but it worked our the the result was amazing.
Result
Reflection
My Zenith was a pretty big project that I was super happy with. The results were as good as I wanted it to be. Louie and I always have a hunch for comedy situations, so we were really glad that we were able to get together on this project and write the script and film together. I think the jokes that came out of it was very efficient. And most of the kids were kind of laughing which made me feel good. This project also challenged me a lot in terms of using Premiere pro and other softwares like After Effects. I am super happy with the outcome.
