Photo Blog: Small vs Large

This photo was taken at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee where MLK was shot. The breach is where he stood and I positioned my camera in the path of bullet. A small piece of metal had an enormous impact on a nation.

For my picture I separated the photo into 3 different portions, I masked everything in front of the wall in order to add vibrant colors to the motel and sign. I increased the shadows of the wall to mark a divide between the exhibit and the area that was accessible to the public. Finally, I masked out the bullet’s path and turned the saturation and vibrance to 0 so it appeared black and white.
