Who are you?
I am Zoey M. Brake, a Senior in 2022-2023 and an LAHS. Outside of school, I like playing video games, gardening, and hanging out with friends in downtown Mountain View. I consider myself an introvert, so playing games and gardening are the only things I do year around.
(I would like to speak to future Freestyle students. below.)
I was an animation student and made some pretty cool stuff, but I’m sure you will make something even more spectacular! As a traditional introverted student, I didn’t leave a significant legacy; you all younglings are crazy sometimes, which is probably why you’ll have many more fun moments in your years. I can’t wait to see what you’ll do. No pressure, though; I’ll be waiting!!

Reflecting on your experience at Freestyle, what are your final thoughts about Freestyle and how it has personally influenced you?

Plans for next year: 4-year University at Portland State University
Major or Job: I will major in computer science and a minor in herbalism.
Scholarships: I got a scholarship of 2,500 from the Los Altos Rotary Club.
Reflection about Freestyle: I’m so grateful that I got the chance to go to Freestyle; it is such a privilege. I’m glad that I got the opportunity to be included in such a fantastic program. I never thought I’d be able to explore such an excellent program. I am 100% sure Freestyle will thrive and attract crazy talent for years to come.
Advice to 1st-Year Seniors: Connect your at-home computer to the EVO to complete more work. Prioritize finishing significant assignments, acknowledge your tiredness, and then go to sleep at a reasonable time.
Freestyle in 5 years: I’d like Freestyle to have another section in the digital media class focusing on marketing/management in the music, visual, and performing arts industries. It would be cool if they taught you how to make money as an artist and manage yourself independently. And how to start making your own business as an artist.
