In our conceptual unit, we explored completely new concepts in the field of digital media, while developing our skills with tools such as DSLR cameras, audio recorders, as well as platforms such as Avid Pro Tools, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. This was all done to answer the question, “How can I use unconventional forms to express myself?”

Over the course of the unit, I have slowly gotten used to the technology and proactive optimistic mindset of freestyle.

Project Poem

In English we wrote a 15-25 line project poem. We then recorded the poem and edited the audio in Pro Tools. Finally we made a project poem photo in photoshop.

Photo Haiku

In English, we were given a concept statement, which explored an emotion through an action, which we had to write a haiku about as well as take a photo which represented it. Later, in Digital Media, we created a short video version of the photo haiku in Adobe Premiere Pro

Elements and Principles of Art

We researched the 7 elements and the 6 principles of art and made a slideshow with examples in ar and photography.

Experimental Film

Our first major project in film, I spared little time away from my experimental film. Although it isn’t great, I see it as a stepping stone toward better work in the future.
