Pastel Painting

The pastel painting assignment was the first painting method we learned in photoshop, and it was honestly my favorite. Zooming in and painting the small details with a pastel brush was therapeutic and really satisfying to see the final product.

Watercolor Painting

The watercolor painting wasn’t my favorite project if I’m being totally honest. That being said, I found it to be a valuable lesson in patience due to the numerous steps required in its production.

Surreal Composition

Mirror To the Past

My goal for the project was to use the eye as a mirror of sorts, with the outermost layer showing the present, while the iris and pupil showed the past, and the nature that once may have existed in such a place. Eyes are really reflective making it easy to making a realistic looking reflection on them. The wolf howling in the middle was more of an artist stamp, using the white wolf’s contrast against the black pupil to make it look like a wolf howling at the moon.

The Miracle

Miracle Before Miracle After

This image is from an NFL playoff game in 2018 known as the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’ which I painted in acrylic. I love watching football, and this is probably my most favorite play of all time, so I really wanted to paint it.

A Light in the Dark

Flame Before Flame After

I thought that the original picture I had taken for my photo blogs was pretty cool, so I decided to convert it to a watercolor image. The lighting and shadows made it really hard to change anything in the image without altering it to an unrealistic extent. I was worried that it would be too dark to see any color in the background, but thankfully I was able to find the tinges of blue in the corners of the frame to provide some contrast to the bronze in the center.

3D Art Project

The 3D art Project involved creating a 3D product by designing it in illustrator and having it laser cut and assembled. I chose to make my product with ring art. After assembling, we were also asked to create a video to show a ‘timelapse’ of the assembly.

Senya

I’m a big fan of Naruto. That much is pretty clear, seeing the design of my art. It’s supposed to look like a scene from the series when a character named Itachi is crouching on an electrical pole with the moon behind him making him appear as an ominous silhouette. The name comes from Itachi’s theme, titled Senya, roughly translating to 1000 nights/eternal night.
