WEBGEMS

Webgems are websites that I have found on the internet that I feel should be shared. Each website I choose shows a little about my personality, whether it is my work ethics or just interests and humour.

For today's webgem, I chose a website called Print Friendly. THis is a cool resource to use if you are feeling eco-friendly (should be always) and if you are feeling conservative with your printer ink (again, should be always!). I highly encourage you to use this for any website you plan to print, especially if it does not have its own print friendly version available.

I have chosen the webgem for today to be a fun little tool. This website is great for just having fun or making a little challenge for your friends to read. I constantly use it to get a cool effect myself (sıɥʇ sɐ ɥɔns)! I highly reccomend playing around with it for a few minutes whether you use it for a post on twitter or for nothing.

Today's Webgem is a great resource for all those writers out there. Whether you are writing a report for a lab in Chemistry, or an essay for English, you want your writing to sound cohesive and as little redundant as possible. This website allows you to see which words you use the most frequently based off a few simple parameters that you set. It really is a huge help for just cutting down the time spent revising and scanning your work for these simple redundancies. In fact, I used it for typing this description!

For today's Webgem, I chose to share a website which will make your life just a hair easier. Have you ever woken up wondering if it's a day for iced coffee? Well here's your solution! Instead of making all those tedious calculations in your head based off your weather application, this website does all the work for you! It really is a fun way to make your day just that much better.

For this webgem, I chose a website called "Souncloud" because it is another source of music. Being a person who loves music, I enjoy exploring new songs and genres; precisely what Soundcloud allows me to do. Soundcloud is an online audio platform that enables its users to upload, record, promote, and share their original music! It is especially great for listening to songs that are nowhere else, and different from anything you have ever heard.

For this webgem, I chose to use "Spotify Web Player" because it is one of the greatest sources for free, online music that I have found. With Spotify, you are able to stream music for as long as you want, with an extensive online library that allows you to create playlists of your favorite songs. I have been using this for years to listen to, as well as discover, music. If you do not have a playlist of your own, then do not worry, you may choose from their extensive playlists based on your mood or musical desires!

For this webgem, I chose a website called "Webdesigner Depot". This website is a great resource that has helped to me to create better looking websites. Whether you choose to purchase or download one or a few of their many feature text-styles, or delve into an article about the successes of a certain process, there is always something that i have found to read or play with while learning new concepts and styles to use with my projects.

For this webgem, I chose to use a beautifully designed website called Pablo the Flamingo. This website has no other purpose other than to entertain its viewers, using beautiful CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) design and music. Be careful, however, for the music they use on this website is explicit, however if you are willing to check it out, you will never be dissappointed with Pablo, the dancing Flamingo!

For this webgem, I chose to use Layers Magazine because it gives lots of useful tutorials on anything that Adobe makes. I use this website particularly for projects in photoshop, because it teaches me new techniques and tools that later benefit me in my work. As a student, this greatly increases the usability of major Adobe applications that I want to use.
