Introduction

While English was my most emotional and honestly comfortable art form digital made me go deeper into the absurdism through digital mediums.

Photoshop Art

My first medium was Photoshop where I made a variety of art pieces.

Photoshop Pastel Painting

When I first started creating this painting I really wanted to do a Bob Ross painting. Motivated by his smile, I imagined a great natural scenery on my artboard with bright colors and realistic surroundings. Unfortunately, this didn’t become a reality. Finding my artistic voice through a cartoon type style I depicted a scenery of a volcano that has the base of water. It is a depiction of opposites working together to make one cohesive piece.

Photoshop Surreal Composition

For this piece I wanted to take things that don’t match up whatsoever and put them together. The first thing that came to mind was fire and ice which is shown in the image. I really wanted to show the two communicating with one another in the same space which is this landscape. I wanted the viewer to get the warm feeling of winter juxtaposed with the summer forest fires that bring about everyone’s summer fears. Most importantly I believe that a large majority of art makes no sense(even to the creator) so I wanted to create that puzzle in the viewers mind because at the end of the day art is meant for fun expression not to make sense.

Multi-Layer Art Project

Next, I used Illustrator to create my multi layer art project.

Reflection

While English was my strongest I felt like I had the biggest technical learning curve in digital media, seeing how much my skills have grown over the past two years has been truly incredible.
