This week’s photo blog prompt was “fill the frame.” Essentially, fill the frame of a photo with a certain color, certain visual element, or subject to make a more engaging or interesting photo. From what I have observed about this technique, fill the frame photos with simpler elements tend to be more engaging to me. I also tended to like photos that got very close to their subjects, so I decided to incorporate that into my photo. The photo I chose for this prompt is a close up of a small ceramic pot in my backyard. It’s a small object that doesn’t seem to stand out much. However, I found that when I got closer, I ended up with an effective fill-the-frame photo that I really liked!
