Introduction

During the second semester of our Senior year, Freestyle students are challenged to develop their story-telling abilities in a variety of different forms during the Narrative 2 Unit. The narrative 2 Unit is centered around the idea of “Applying advanced narrative techniques to create a compelling story.” Seniors achieve this goal by completing narrative-based projects in each of our three core classes using new applications or skills we learn along the way. In English, we learned how to collaborate effectively with a group on a creative world-building project, and sharpened our oral presentation skills. In Digital Media, we worked to convey those world-building stories visually using layered art pieces made in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Finally, in my Animation Elective, I used newfound knowledge of 3D animation to create a short animated film with 2 of my classmates. Overall, I think this has been one of my favorite units at freestyle, and I look forward to what comes next!
