Color Without Color

This week’s prompt was “take a photo that shows a colorful story, but do it in black and white.” Initially, I was unsure of what to do for this prompt. I went on a walk around the place my family was staying for veteran’s day weekend. We had traveled to Tahoe for a vacation just as the seasons were turning from fall to winter. The small signs of winter I saw on my walk inspired me to create photos for this prompt. I took pictures of the small amounts of snow and ice visible in the garden I was walking around in, attempting to tell the story of fall slowly being overtaken by winter. I eventually chose this photo, a picture of the broken up ice in a pond that melts apart and refreezes everyday, getting a bit more solid with every cycle.
