This week’s prompt was “What is happening in the world today? Be inspired by current events.” When i first saw this prompt, my mind immediately went to all of the depressing things you see on the news. For example, currently, the Ukraine-Russia war rages while President Trump has raised tariffs and supported Elon Musk in making large scale changes in the US government, among other things. From the newspapers my parents read, headline after headline seemed to jump out at me. If I am not careful about my mindset and how I think about learning about current events, it can really ruin my day to consume media concerning them. However, looking at today’s current events in my Civics/Economics and even my English classes has shown me how important it is to be informed on current world issues. So, in this photo blog, I wanted to show that I am making an effort to engage with currents events even if they are anxiety-inducing, in the interest of being able to properly navigate discussions about them and learn what I can do to be successful in the future by understanding how large-scale changes affect me as an individual.
