This week’s prompt was, “Using only natural elements, frame your subject. No actual picture frames allowed.” For this prompt, I decided to go for a walk at Questa park (a local park that is pretty close to my house) to see if I could find some elements of nature to frame my subject with. Recently, Questa park has been struggled with a mole issue, and there are holes everywhere. You can even see the rodents occasionally peek their little heads out of the tunnels they’ve dug everywhere. They are cute, but it can be quite the tripping hazard. Anyway, I ended up taking inspiration from these, and using one to frame a flower I had found. I was able to use the natural darker colors and shadows cast by the hole to frame my white flower in a circular shape. I like the way it came out, especially how the radiating black, brown, and pale yellow colors work together to further complete the frame and draw attention to the white flower.
