Self-Portrait

The prompt for this photo was a faceless self portrait. I was initially going to take a photo of a bunch of stuff that I liked, but I felt like that wouldn’t have really showed what I was truly passionate about and what really represented me. At this time I had also just finished constructing a set that I had designed for the school play, which is a community and effort that I am really passionate about. So I took the opportunity to use the set and the materials from it to represent this passion of mine, as well as the role I play in the production as a whole. Although the work I do is behind the scenes, you can see the product of my work on stage with the cast, as it helps tell the story and further immerse the audience. I’m faceless, but the work I do is visible, and that effort is what truly represents me. The theater community has become a core element of my identity, and through the art I make, I can express my love for it.
