Design

Along with a comic and an animation, we also made a fake book jacket for our narrative with fake reviews and a quick blurb about us and the plot of the narrative as well as some other formalities. The whole thing was made using only our own art and either Photoshop or Illustrator with a template for what the dimensions should be. We also had to pick a genre of book we would be designing a cover for and I chose to make my narrative a children’s book due to the simplistic nature of it’s story and art style.

We also kind of went rogue in Design for this unit and broke with the whole narrative theme that the other classes were following. Deceptive I know because this is the narrative unit but we actually worked on developing surreal art in design instead. With photography and a lot of editing in photoshop we made a surreal piece that attempted to convey a message, some message, any message really. We also had to use HDR photography and shoot our focal point in person among other requirement regarding texture and composition. Below are both of the pieces we worked on this unit.
