In this unit, we explored creating different forms of art utilizing Photoshop. While the boundless usages of this interface were initially intimidating, I grew to really enjoy the production and results of many of my works and appreciate the self-directed nature of each assignment.

Photoshop Compilations

In response to the orange sky that appeared all throughout California as a result of the wildfires, I was inspired to convey the California “vibe” through this intensified red hue. The giant octopus represents the unexpected events that have been continuously thrown towards the world this year, and the surfer our desire to escape from it all.

Digital Painting

My digital watercolor painting represents emotion in an abstract way. Its bright colors and loosely-defined shapes signify a serene, relaxed, and cheery moment. This painting is meant to bring a bit of joy to its viewers by sparking a happy, trouble free memory upon sight. Created with Photoshop, this piece introduced me to the world of digital painting, which proved to be a relaxing and pleasant experience. I hope the viewers gain as much happiness from this painting as I got from creating it.
