Telling a Lie

Telling a Lie

Although they say the camera never tells lies, I think the opposite. A picture is a snapshot of a moment: posed, edited, perfected, and made to look like the reality. In fact, pictures are so misleading, that we cannot trust their content in any way.

This picture depicts peaceful family hike in Southern California, and nothing more. What it doesn’t show however, is the hectic journey in which we lost my cousin, got separated from the adults, lost cell reception, and took a total of five hour sto find our way back home, only to find my cousin waiting at the bottom of the hill. So, in every aspect, the camera is always lying.
