Welcome to my Self Portrait Website! This website contains work that I did during the first few months at Freestyle Academy. It also includes information about me, my family, and my friends. Click on one of the buttons below to navigate around this site.

Similar to my First Project Listing Page from junior year I wanted to keep this website layout simple by using a color scheme, few fonts, and removing obtrusive elements like distracting textures and heavy drop shadows. I also wanted to make navigation more intuitive by creating graphics to represent each page of this site. The images give the viewer a better understanding of what they are about to see.

The design and layout for this website was all created using Photoshop and then programmed using HTML and CSS inside of DreamWeaver. I was inspired by the sites off thebestdesigns.com, where I saw an example site with a large colored band stretched across the width of the sceen. I acomplished this effect by setting a wrapper with the styles { margin: 0 auto;} and then added a content div inside.

Throughout the first few months at Freestyle Academy, I have learned not just about creating well designed and functional websites, but also about myself and what drives my passion for designing. What attracts me to web design and development is that unlike standard print design, a website involves creating a layout that responds to user interaction.
