Speedlite Shots

This week, I took a few photos of the same subject while using my Speedlite in different ways. In the first photo, I used no flash. The photo turned out super dark and you can’t see the subject at all. In the second photo, I used the flash and a diffuser cap. The diffuser cap allowed the light from the flash to spread out evenly, and you can see that this photo has the softest shadows out of the four. In the third photo, I used the flash with a white-bounce card. When the flash was triggered, some of the light got reflected by the white-bounce card. Similar to the diffuser cap, the white-bounce card helped even out the spread of the light from the flash. Finally, the fourth photo is of the subject with a regular flash aimed at it. This created some harsh shadows, and the light wasn’t spread too evenly. However, the house is still illuminated well, and this is useful because it’s the focal point of the photo.
