Using symmetry and Adobe Illustrator, I created a Mandala that is reflective of minimalism and my personal style. Using math, I created a pattern that repeated itself within a circle. Anything drawn in the shape that repeated into a pattern copied itself in all the other shapes. I enjoyed the satisfaction of the freedom to explore my artistic skills while creating this piece.
My piece is titled “Simplicity” as I wanted to create a clean and minimalistic feel to my mandala. I loved looking at my classmates mandalas as each mandala was so precise and unique. The stylistic choices for each student really came out through this project, which made me appreciate the differences in all of our creativity as a collective whole, at Freestyle.
I believe basic is beautiful, and I wanted to portray that through my mandala so I decided to stick to the basic structure and primary curves, circles, and other designs. This project was a great way to get back into Freestyle and I am excited to keep producing more artwork throughout the year!
