This picture is taken in an island called Mejima, Japan, and I took this picture of an unused fish net stuck to the rooftops of the citizen's houses, because I was influenced of how these fish nets represent their livings and cultures.
Rain in Mejima, Japan

In this picture that I took recently, the “trash” or the unused fish nets tells a story to the audience. In this island that I traveled to volunteer in, there is a fishing village where people living in this island fully depends on. There are multiple fish nets stuck to the roof tops of the citizen’s houses, and they hang it out in order to let it dry or let it sit on their roof tops after it cannot be used. The fish nets not only demonstrates the significance of the culture of this island, but also demonstrates the custom and citizen’s livings.
