Introduction section:
For the Podcast project, students were challenged to communicate to the audience about a specific topic in which we dived deeper through research. Through using a widely accessible communication medium, Podcast, my partner, Jennifer Shi and my goal was to learn about the significance of techniques such as humor and storytelling to draw the audience’s attention and carry out  stronger messages. Our inspirations for the Podcast were the New York Times Podcasts and also Podcasts such as “The Show of Delight” from This American Life. These Podcasts gave me inspirations on the transitions, storytelling tones, and sound effects to incorporate aspects of humor into our Podcast project.

Reflection:
From the Podcast Project, I was able to reflect upon my tendencies and areas that require growth in terms of creating content for an audience, collaborating with a partner, and also having the ability to communicate information and message to others. One challenge that I faced was to learn more about incorporating humor and other techniques to draw the audience’s attention, but through referencing, studying, and enjoying other people’s podcasts, my partner and I were able to grow from our first draft. From this experience, I want to focus more on the communications and formats of any projects in the future to create content that draws the audience more. For first-time podcasters, one advice that I would give is to simply enjoy and listen to varieties of podcasts from different podcasters, as I believe that this will not only inspire, but also widen the scope for growth.
