Surreal Composition

For the Surreal Composition project, I was inspired by one of my favorite shows, Steven Universe. The show focuses on space, and one of the characters has a pink lion. I started with the photo of the flower field, then added the stars in the background. I then took the planets and put them over the stars. Finally I added the lion like it was walking through the field, and made it look pink. I wanted it to cast a bit of pink on the space around it as if it were slightly glowing pink.

Multi-Layered Art Project

The Composition me and my partner created for the Multi-Layered Art Project was inspired by our world building project. We started with a sketch, then we started an illustrator file, where we drew each of the layers that would be cut out.

Final Lightbox

To create the Lightbox, we cut put each of our layers, then stacked them on top of each other with pieces of foam in between each layer’s edge. We then created the light box by taking a wood box and attaching leds to the back. We used diffuser paper to help spread the light out over more space and look more clean.
