Stranger

1/50 f5.6 ISO100

I took this photo while I was at the SF MOMA. I don’t know why but the piece intrigued me and made me wonder who the photograph was of. I found it strange that the photo was blurred and the ink was almost blue.

  • Tell a Lie

The reason I chose to photograph these flowers was because they aren’t actually flowers. Don’t let their appearance fool you. These plants are sow thistle weeds, an invasive plant that is problematic to North America. Their dainty marigold-like exterior masks their noxious intent, preventing people from removing them.

  • Leading Lines

I took this photo of a red velvet pancake while I was in Chicago. I chose to use it to show leading lines in food photography. The red velvet ganache is drizzled vertically while the cream cheese frosting is drizzled horizontally, making a messy grid where powdered sugar can be seen through the gaps.

  • Serenity

In order to show serenity and the feeling of serene, I photographed the sunset from on top of a rollercoaster at great america.

  • Rule of Odds

I chose to photograph 3 mochi donuts for ‘Rule of Odds’. On the side of the box, there are also 5 holes.

  • Aging

To show aging I decided to photograph an old swing I found in the woods. The rope was worn and the wood was rotted.
