For this prompt, I chose to take a picture of Polaroids featuring my cousin and me together. I selected this as my self-portrait because she brings out my truest self. Around her, I feel completely comfortable, free from any pressure to act a certain way. My personality shifts when I’m with her, not because I’m pretending to be someone else, but because she allows me to express the side of me that others don’t always see. People are often surprised by how I act when I’m with her, but to me, it feels the most natural. This connection, this ease, is a reflection of who I genuinely am.
