Worldbuilding
After reading the novel Parable of the Sower, I worked with my partner, Lindsay, to create a narrative treatment of the characters, themes, and three-act plot structure of our world. Then, I wrote a research essay about a theme from the world that connected to the real world. Finally, we pitched the world as if we were presenting to potential investors and studios who would produce a TV show of our world. This unit pushed me to think more creatively and big picture, connecting the fictional world to important themes and messages.
