I decided to refer to a well known metaphor known as “half-full” and “half-empty”. The metaphor is symbolizing between optimism and pessimism. The water that is pouring out referred to as half-full and is becoming half-empty. The reason why I took this photo and used it to describe me was because I’m “pouring” myself into things and give it my all. The words on the cup also represent a core value of mine: empathy. Giving others emotional support and allowing them to have their cup filled is important to me as it creates a safe space. On the other hand, too much water spilled leaves myself “empty”. In any scenario, I’m left “dried and empty.”
