This is a photo of Josh Hannan running the 1600m at a dual meet of Mountain View vs Los Gatos. To get him separated from the background, I used a lower f-stop, and turned up the shutter speed to make the subject less blurry.
This is another center-frame portrait, of my dog fast asleep. To get everything blurred, I used a low f-stop.
