In Judaism, light is a huge part of our culture. Nearly every holiday or celebration involves the lighting of candles; it serves as a fundamental part of our religion. The candle’s flame is also thought to symbolically represent the human soul and serves as a reminder of the frailty and beauty of life. At it’s core, light reminds Jews of the miracle of our existence; a symbol of perseverance, luminosity, and endurance.
