Aging, It’s weird, it’s scary, It’s something that everyone goes through. The photoblog prompt was about aging and telling a short about aging. This photo was taken when I was traveling back from Fresno for a competition, and the road ahead of us was pretty empty (As you can see, there is no cars at all in our side of the highway) We were going through Pacheco Pass, which is pretty much a valley so the only real thing you can see is the road ahead, the other lanes and the sides of the valley. This photo expresses the idea of aging to me, the high speed drive through the night where the only thing you can see is in the light of the headlight like how we can’t see that far into the future and we live in the present. The blurred lights from the other cars also show how fast life is moving and when you sit down and think about it, we’re only here for 75, 80, 90 if you’re lucky, years and for some reason, each year feels like it going faster.
So, I extended the shutter speed to 1/60 in order to get the blurred lines from the lights from the other cars. In Photoshop, I decrease the shadows a bit because in the original photo, it was too dark and the only thing you could see was the lights and a bit of the road.
