Funny Images
Right, so I’ll be honest, I thought we had to use images we took ourselves in this project, so mine aren’t super funny. I mean I had fun making them.

But overall, these were practices for the surreal composition, and it taught me how to put images together in Photoshop. Even though we used the software in animation, we’d never touched tools like the magic wand or lasso, and this was definitely a learning experience.
Motion Graphics
For this assignment, we first learned how to create simple motion graphics using vectors in After Effects. I was very interested in it, and wondered how much more I could do with it.
I also submitted this to the NUMU art contest, and am being featured in their exhibition! I animated the tiger by hand, but the water is done using noise maps. I still feel like I have no idea how to use these kinds of things, but either way I learned the basics on motion graphics!

I searched up a tutorial on how to do it, of course. I had one layer for the tiger animation and one for the water splashes (hand animated). Then I had a couple duplicates of the tiger to make the rim light / shadow effect. And then a couple more to make the water, which I just copied and pasted the same noise map + mask to all of them.
Multi-Layered Art Project
Our next assignment was to make a piece of stacked wood art (or a lightbox) on Illustrator based on our English worldbuilding narratives.
