For my senior narrative, I was required to create a story that was both enjoyable and reflected on the skills that we had learned in Freestyle Film class.First, I created my first pitch- a story about two boys who work together on a painting and learn to appreciate each others skills. That was how I created my group of people: Mia Staulo and Karen Chen.

We brainstormed together to deepen the meaning of our story, creating our first screenplay, in which we did many revisions to our teacher’s feedback.

Giving this to Mr. Taylor, he was unsatisfied and we as a group decided to do a complete turn around and rewrite the who thing. Together, we brainstormed yet another queer story, this time about two girls. One trying to find a date and the other secretly crushing on her. We made much more progress and were able to get the whole thing greenlit! Throughout the process, we were able to improve our skills on planning ahead and organizing

although, we did have some bumps in our road with actors and finding a place to film, we powered through, creating a shortlist, gathering cameras and equipment, and finally settling on filming at Karen’s house, State Street Market, and MVHS!

We each worked separately on different scenes and had to work until the final day to finally get it done! We all were extremely happy with the results and glad we could share it with so many people!

One thing I wish I could have done better was planning. We were quite behind for some time- supposed to turn it in ,months before. I am still forever grateful for our friends who were available to help us in the process!
