    Sunsets

f/3.5, ISO 500, 1/132, 50 mm We were tasked to creatively take a photo of a sunset for one of this months photo blogs. I was really excited because I love sunsets and taking pictures of them. I soon realized that due to daylight savings, there was less time in the day and my busy schedule there would be a hard time to capture the sunsetting. While I was in the city with my camera I was able to capture this photo. You can’t necessarily see the typical sunset with the sky turning colors but I felt that with how the light filtered between streets and light being casted onto…

    Weight or Mass

f/3.5, ISO 500, 1/320, 50 mm We were tasked to take a photo of something that had visual mass. When first looking at the prompt I was unsure of how I would be able to show visual mass in a photo. But while I was sitting in my friends car, I saw a USPS truck and felt that it stood out against all of the other cars. So with centering the USPS truck in the middle to really draw your eyes to it I felt that it held a lot of visual weight to it.

    Symmetry Landscape

f/3.5, ISO 2000, 1/320, 50 mm We were tasked to capture symmetry in landscape to create a new viewpoint. I used the symmetry in the brick and in the 2 white trucks. I was unsure of how I would be able to capture symmetry in landscape for this month without traveling somewhere to a scenic place. But while I was out with my camera I saw that there were 2 white trucks back to back. I thought that the composition of the photo was super lucky with the position of the trucks and them happening to be behind the brick wall.

    Rule of Thirds Motion

f/3.5, ISO 100, 1/125, 50 mm Using the rule of thirds, I took a photo of my dog looking out on the balcony. I had him in the 1st 3rd of the photo giving more space on the right to emphasize him looking to the right and show motion. I also had the camera focus on him so he is the main subject of the photo. I wanted it to look like he was about to get up from sitting, getting a closer look down the street as he got closer to the railing.

    Faceless Self Portrait

f/1.8, ISO 200, 1/20, 50 mm We were tasked to take a photo that tells people who we are without actually showing our face. I took a photo of a book, headphones, and music albums from my favorite group. I really enjoy reading and listening to music so I wanted that to be the center. I made the camera focus on the book and headphones to really emphasize them. I wanted to include the albums but didn’t want it to be the main focus so I put it in the background with it slightly out of focus.
