Angles
For the prompt angles, I wanted to capture my dog from below. To do this I got him to lay down on the couch using treats and then have him stay there. I then held the treats over the camera for him to look at him. I got on the floor, angled my camera up and took pictures of him. At times it was difficult to capture due to him coming down from the couch and coming to me to get the treat. So I tried to act fast and take the picture that I wanted.

Stranger
For the prompt stranger, I chose to capture my dog and the people in the back as the main focus. My dog when he hears people talking loudly as they walk he barks at them. So while the people just walking down the street are just talking and hanging out my dog is just barking at them. Something that was challenging was to try and capture him looking at them which in the end I wasn’t able to capture because the first photo I took my dog was right in front of them, making it so I wasn’t able to see them in the picture.

Serenity
For the prompt of Serenity I chose what makes me feel most at peace. And what peace means to me is doing crafts like knitting and being in my bed where I feel calmest. I captured the knitting project that I’m working on right now in my bed to show how I feel the most calm knitting. I also think that the texture that is in the photo shows how fluffy and you can almost feel the project.

Aging
For aging I chose to photograph some of the things I made when I was younger and some pictures of me when I was little. This was to show how the how much I’ve grown showing how I’ve aged. Now that I’m a junior in high school and in my second semester senior year is approaching and its sometimes scary to think that I’m going to be an adult soon. But looking back at these pictures and things that I made I realize how much I’ve grown as a person and this new chapter that is approaching seems less scary.

Negative Space
For negative space I photographed my dog where he is surrounded by darker colors making his light colors stand out and create negative space. It was hard to predict where he would go and if he would stay in one place so I had to wait patiently to get the photo of him. when I saw him lay down I took the opportunity to take the picture and make sure he was where I wanted him, moving around him quietly so I wouldn’t accidentally get him to stand back up and move around.

Eyes
For the prompt of eyes I photographed my dogs eyes. Looking above the camera, I was holding a treat so he could look in the middle. Those are the eyes of a dog wanting to get his favorite treats, waiting ever so patiently. The light helps create more depth in his eyes, allowing me to get more details. It was difficult at times to get the photo because he kept on wanting to move around and get the treat due to him running out of patience waiting for the treat.

Center Frame Portrait
For the Prompt of Center Frame Portrait I decided to take a picture of my dog. I got the camera lower to the ground making sure that he was in the middle of the frame. Making sure he was the only subject in frame I isolated him making him the main focal point. The camera focusing on him and blurring the background also makes your eye focus on him.

Water
f/3.2, ISO 3200, 1/20, 50 mm For this prompt of water we were tasked to creatively take a picture of water. The way I creatively took a picture of water was using its reflection. The reflection in the water makes it looks like there is one big mirror on the ground. This is due to the water not moving and it being dark out letting the lights of the flower really stand out in the water. I’m really happy with how I captured this photo and can’t wait to look back on the photo in the future to remind myself of the day I took it.

Balance in Holiday Traditions
f/3.2, ISO 6400, 1/20, 50 mm This month one of the prompts we could take a picture of was composing a holiday tradition with balance. A holiday tradition I do is every Christmas I spend time with family in the San Francisco. This is a picture of my family members while we were at the Botanical Gardens spending time together. I was able to show asymmetrical balance in this photo because they are both on different sides of the center line and they are both doing different things.

White Balance
f/3.5, ISO 1250, 1/320, 50 mm Using white balance to creatively take a photo, I used the car window frame to draw peoples eyes to the things in it like the business sign. I then used a different white balance to change the mood of the photo. At the time of taking this photo my friend and I were talking about how gloomy it was that day and how it was giving the same vibes as the scenery from Twighlight. So to really lean into that theme I changed the white balance so the photo looks more blue then in real life.
