This week’s photoblog challenge was “Hometown” through story telling. I wanted to have the photo use a very distinct and prominent color palette, that being the complimentary colors of orange and blue. The blue helps make my home town, Los Altos, feel distant. The orange makes the path more prominent and helps with the story telling of the piece. I gave the viewer the choice of either feeling like they’re coming to or going from Los Altos. Before shelter in place, my family did travel a lot. This made the quiet town of Los Altos feel more like home when we were there. There’s emphasis on the path because paths are associated with journeys, choice and travel.
