In our English class, we did a Listener Lyric unit, also known as the Lyrical Essay unity. A lyrical essay can encapsulate a broader range of writing techniques than you’d see in a normal essay.
This project was journey for me because of the freedom we were given with this project. We could research any topic, so I began with the broad idea of how animals are portrayed in media. Eventually, my focus narrowed on sheep and goats. I found a personal connection to those animals with the anecdote I put at the start of the essay.
