Narrative Synopsis

My partner Joe and I are making a narrative film about two friends who rely on each other to function but are on the run from the law. The working title of this film is “Pair of Crutches.”

The first act starts off with a bank robbery. The cops are trying to figure out who perpetrated the crime. The scene switches to two best friends walking down the street. They are fooling around, and not the brightest people. One of the friends attempts to throw a gum wrapper in the trash, but completely misses. While going to pick it up, the other friend sees a sign above the trash can that says “No Littering” and something about a consequence. The two friends freak out, thinking they’ll go to prison or worse. There are more cops than usual hanging around their neighborhood due to the bank robbery. The friends think it’s because they knew about the littering and were there to arrest whoever committed the crime. They start acting extremely sketchy around the cops.

Act two starts off with all the cops comparing notes and noticing that the two friends were acting super sketchy. The friends start packing their bags and finding “safe houses.” The police see that they’re getting ready to flee and so go to investigate them further. They find them talking about the littering in a way that could be mistaken as them talking about the bank robbery. The police go after them and there’s a chase scene. The friends start running and keep getting in each other’s way. They create mass destruction without trying. The cops are on their tail and eventually arrest them.

Act three begins with the cops taking them into the police station for questioning. They are both crying and try to throw each other under the bus for the crime. The police is about to take them in for questioning when the friend who litters confesses and apologizes for littering and begs to not go to prison. The cops are confused as to what he’s talking about when another cop comes in with the real bank robber. The cops laugh at the two friends who thought they were going to jail for littering and just give them a $100 fine.
