As I was sitting and enjoying a cup of coffee at my local cafe, I noticed the empty spot next to me which seemed to have occupied a person reading a recently printed newspaper. After some debating, I decided that I would regret not capturing the aesthetic scene formed by this stranger’s empty coffee mug, positioned elegantly atop the most recent sports headlines in California. As opposed to several other news mediums such as online websites or social media, I always find myself most attracted to the vintage nature of a well read newspaper with a fresh print smell. I admire the juxtaposition between modern news and old tradition that it represents.
