For the long shutter speed exposure prompt, I was inspired to capture a photo of a record in motion, spinning on a vinyl. The low 1/12 exposure time allowed the colored elements of the vinyl to be elongated and streak across the photo, creating a swirl of several neutral colors that exist within the photograph printed on the vinyl. Elements of the photo that were not in motion, however, appear as they are in real life, such as the immobile counterweight which allows the music to ring through. In order to ensure that only the desired components created the blurred effect, I used a tripod as a means of avoiding a shaky hand. One workaround while taking this photo was capturing it in a dark environment, as the long shutter speed permitted far more light to enter the frame.
