In this photograph, a single book atop my bookshelf is surrounded by negative space. A lot of places in my room have a lot of empty space that I am constantly trying to redecorate and fill with aesthetic arrangements, but empty space helps me put emphasis on certain objects. My bookshelf especially has a lot of space and I don’t have near as many books to fill it and so it and so against the wall it looks very lonely and filled with empty space. However, the emptiness also makes it stand out, and will be the first thing people see when they look at my shelf which I like.
