In Their Eyes"
In this piece, I'm trying to relay the concept that I see myself throught he eyes of others. This concept is significant, or unique to me, while at the same time being universal, because I feel that how I perceive myself, is largely based off of what other people see or think of me, letting their perceptions define and shape me. In a piece where we were supposed to create an image that reflected my schema and our beliefs, I produced a piece that shows that I'm not yet completely aware of all my beliefs or what I believe myself to be.
To get my message across, I captured a picture of myself through an alternative lens (or eyes), which in this case are my cousin's sunglasses. My facial expressions also help convey the confusion and uncertainty I feel when asked to reflect on myself as a person. I hope that from this illustration, the viewer can better understand the means I use to define myself.
