symmetry landscape

a small lump of moss placed on a mirror outside so that it looks like a tiny island.

The theme this week was “symmetry landscape”. At first, I wasn’t sure what to do for this photo – I don’t have many pretty places near me that could be considered a landscape, let alone one that’s symmetrical. So, I decided to make my own! I found this little lump of moss growing in a pot and put it on my mirror outside. It created the image of a tiny little island, and the reflection in the mirror gave a similar look to that of water! I especially love the little plants growing out of the top, because the brown ones look like a field of tall grass.

I also placed the little island in the middle of the camera so that attention would be drawn to it. The darker greens and browns contrast with the light blue of the sky which allows for a pleasing composition! This theme initially was very difficult for me, but I ended up having a lot of fun with it :]

viewpoint

This week’s prompt was to take a photo showing the viewpoint of another person, and I thought my trip to the aquarium would be perfect to take a shot from the perspective of a scuba diver. I loved this photo I took of this fish swimming out from between the…
