Humor

For our final English unit at Freestyle, we studied humor. We began by reading Kurt Vonnegut’s semi-autobiographic science fiction-infused anti-war novel, Slaughterhouse-Five. Even though I’m already a humor master (duh), we studied Vonnegut’s use of satirical comedy, callbacks, dark humor, etc.

Overcome with second-semester senior stress, I partnered with my friends (Meri and Megan) to create a short mockumentary about the college admissions process. It was oddly cathartic to poke fun at college admissions and use satire and exaggeration to call out how ridiculous the admission process often is.
