Research Paper

For my research essay, I chose to focus on an issue that is highly prevalent in modern American society– the outlandish cost of health care.

Unfortunately, I never really got around to completing the essay (burnout + college apps), but I am quite satisfied with what I managed to write. The cost of health care in America is something that many people know and are bothered by, yet barely talk about. We should be doing more to highlight how our health has been sold, resold, monetized, and capitalized on.

Surreal Composition

Believe it or not, my surreal composition actually has nothing to do with my research essay, (I know, shocker) as I don’t remember that being a requirement of the project.

Nevertheless, I think this short project was genuinely one of my favorite projects at Freestyle, mostly because it was so laid back and I was able to have fun capturing the whimsy of a cat napping in the clouds.

For this composition, I used the Photoshop techniques I learned about in Digital Media to create a cute and “fluffy” surreal composition, aptly titled “On Cloud-Nine”

Worldbuilding Presentation

In a post-apocalyptic world where society has devolved into techno-feudalism, Exomoss, an Oxygen-starving invasive plant, has drained the Earth of its resources, while spreading like a disease. A poor laborer uncovers its truth. Faced with the indifference of the ruling class, and discontented with the circumstances he lives under, the protagonist takes matters into his own hands. However, as he discovers more about exomoss, he finds himself increasingly doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past…
