Zenith

Introduction

“Zen is river water. It flows downstream. Sometimes the water is gentle, and sometimes it rushes. Sometimes there is a storm and the water slams against rocks, and other times it gently laps against the shore. Sometimes it is ice, and sometimes it is rain, But always it is just water – it doesn’t fight its fate or question it – it just accepts that it is water and must do what water does”

For my zenith project, I decide to do fluid painting with my partner, Channon. Fluid painting has illimitable possibilities based on the colors you use, the way you arrange, and the method you spread the paint. The results are random, free and uncertain, just like the character of water, or the definition of Zen.

The fluid painting is really a challenge for us because we had never made one by ourselves but only watch in videos. This is kind of like the nature of life. When I see other people’s honor and achievement, I will always jealous about them. However, only when I try and experience it by myself, I understand how hard it is and how much effort acquired to put in to achieve those “easy” stuff.

The other challenge is produced by the COVID-19. I can’t work with Channon personally because of quarantine, thus, Channon will do the fluid painting and then send the pictures to me, I then draw something on the pictures digitally.
