For this prompt, we had to take a picture that embodied our current mood. I chose to photograph one of my jelly gouache capsules being opened by a mechanical pencil for a few reasons. The main one was that I had been struggling to pursue my creative endeavors and felt torn about it throughout the week because of looming school assignments. The fact I haven’t been able to use artistic mediums (like gouache or pencil) as often as I would’ve liked led me to feeling distressed and sad throughout the week. I deliberately thought the blue color choice would help reflect this, along with my yellow pencil which although usually associated with joy is now stained with the blue “sadness”.
