Research Essay
In english we were tasked with creating a research essay on a modern day issue/topic of our choice. I decided to write about online censorship, specifically that on the social media platform X, formally know as Twitter. The paper is below.
Surreal composition project
In digital media we were learning how to properly use photoshop to make photo compositions, first we created funny compositions then we had to make surreal compositions to relate to our research essay.
For the Surreal Composition in Digital media, we were tasked with making a photoshop image that related to our research essay topic in English. My topic was on Freedom of Speech on social media, specifically on the platform X formally Twitter. So in my composition I knew I wanted to include the Twitter bird in it, preferably dead, as I felt as if that incapsulated all the compromises and wrong doings of Twitter’s owner Elon Musk. So I found a picture of a bird and turned it blue to act as the Twitter Bird. Then I wanted it to seem as if you were getting some sort of trade off here, so I added the Microphone. As Elon Musk had promised free speech on Twitter after his acquisition but has done very little to uphold that. Which is why I also wanted the Twitter bird to symbolize that the former platform was officially dead with Elon’s acquisition.

Enhanced World Building
In english we were tasked wiht creating a world of our own, below is the presentation. I helped contribute to the development of the narrative treatment by writing out character definitions, specifically the characters of Edrich Oakshield, Bard Gifford, Wymond Oakshield, and Casimir Agravain. Developing these characters, specifically Casimir, was integral to having a good pitch. An important part of any story is a good villain, so I knew characterizing Casimir as detailed as possible would be important. I also wrote the entirety of Act 2 of the story, which was important because this includes some of the most important parts of the story, including the abyss moment for our protagonist. Another reason as to why the 2nd act was so important in preparation for our pitch is that our pitch required to end with the 2nd act cliff hanger, so I had to make it interesting and exciting. My work influenced the final version as I helped define important characters and write the 2nd act that later led into the third act.
