Who are you? I still don’t know the full answer to that yet.
Hey there, I’m Camila Munoz, or more known as Cam. I’m was a senior at Los Altos High School, and Freestyle Academy as an Animation student. (Go 2026!) I was your average high-school student, going about her day to make it out and into college. Ever since I was young, I’ve always enjoyed anything art related, exploring different mediums to see what feels right to me. So far, 2D animating, digital art, and regular sketching are my go to activities. I use my skills in not only art, but writing to show what happens in my own head, what type of stories I’m able to create.
My core values
I value my creativity deeply, as it’s not just a skill I have, but it’s something that has truly become a part of who I am. I’ve always been expressing my feelings through art, to express my love to my family and friends. Which brings me to the next value–my family, both blood and found family. They’ll come first in my life, they’ve been there for me since forever, I wouldn’t be who I am without their support or their influence in my life. I value my connections with others, meeting people who I really can talk to, it’s like an invisible string that connects me to them. I know nothing lasts forever, so I want to enjoy my life and savor my happiness especially in my last year in high school.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of school I enjoyed spending my time with my friends. Whether it’d be gaming all night, laughing so hard we couldn’t breath, or to the quiet talks when we’re tired but still enjoying life. I’ve been into video-games ever since I was a little girl, thanks to my older brother and cousins that always gamed during family holidays. Except, the past year I’ve taken the time to spend more with family again, especially with my niece whom I love dearly. I still continue working on my own drawings, more-so writing these days, especially with two on-going projects made with friends of mine. You’d find me lying in bed with my computer typing away till late at night, with a show in the background playing my favorite comfort series or anime.
What is my end-goal?
In Junior year, I wanted to improve my art skills, learning animation with little practice–and focus on honing my creative writing abilities in English. Working with different prompts or practices like poetry, flash fiction, etc. Now, not only do I really want to keep animating to eventually make shorts, but I want to learn more coding and technical skills for future jobs or even websites.
Why I chose Freestyle
Freestyle provides a different path in regular high school, where I got to complete my credits in English, but with a more creative aspect to it. The courses they provide are fun alternatives, Digital Media allowed the students to learn a bit of everything technical, like coding. The community in the campus was tight-knit, but it allowed us to work together and be able to get to know each other quickly.
So who am I? An aspiring writer who wants to have my work be seen.
