My name is Carly Rae, I’m 17 years old. I was born on June 21, 1989, in a birthing house in Menlo Park. I was living in Sacramento but then after a few months I moved to Mountain View. My dad and my mom divorced when I was about 2 years old. My dad moved to San Jose with my grandma. My mom then moved in another area of Mountain View, and we have been living there for 12 years now. My dad has moved around a lot. I can’t remember how many times we have moved, but it’s probably around 7 times. Now he lives in San Jose with my step mom, Nikki.
I went to Springer Elementary School, for grades p-k till 6th grade. Then I went to Blach Middle School for grades 7-8. Then I went to Los Altos High School, and still do. I’m a senior at Los Altos High, and also at Freestyle High.
My mom started horseback riding when she was about 20 during her years at college. Because of her I started when I was 10 and have kept with it. I ride at Spring Down Equestrian Center, in Portola Valley. I started off like a normal little kid just learning to ride. Now I go over jumps and participate in horseshows. I have won a few ribbons.
My mom also through high school and college was on a gymnastics team. When I was younger I use to do gymnastics and then once I got to high school I decided to start up again. I meet my best friends there and have had a great time. I’m not the best person on the team but that doesn’t matter I’m there to have fun.
My dad has played many sports through out his years of high school. I use to play soccer and I played soft ball for a year. I played soccer from when I was about 8 till I was 14. I was the goalie for our team. I was not scared to get hit in the face with the soccer ball.
Through high school I have tried many sports to see which ones I would like to stick with. Freshman year I played on our field hockey team, I ran track, was on our diving team, and also did gymnastics. Sophomore year I just did gymnastics and same with junior year.
Over the years I have traveled to a few places with my family. With my mom I went to Hawaii, and swam with dolphins. We went to Trinidad and visited with some of her friends, and saw baby turtles running from where they were hatched to the water. We go to Texas every year at least once, because that’s where my mom is from. I visit all of my aunts and uncles and have a great time. We also have gone to the east coast and went to a island, and saw wild horses running free. Also I have been with my dad to different places also; we usually go to a lake every year or up to Tahoe. The lake that we go to is called Blue Lake, usually my aunt and her family come with us and we have the best times there. I love to travel and as soon as this year is over my mom is going to take me on a trip to anywhere in the world I want to go to.
