Introduction
In this project, I developed skills in recording music in a professional grade recording studio. I invited my cousin, who is very talented at piano, to play a song of their choosing. Using Protools and a hybrid acoustic and electric piano, we recorded Arabesque by Debussy.
Heather Knotts is a trained musican in many instruments including piano and guitar. Under her tag “Gingy” she’s created electronic and acoustic music and published it online for people to listen to. She has a wide range of genres, ranging from classical to covers of popular video game music.

For this music recording project, I feel like I gained a lot of insight on how the process for musicians or producers works. Bringing in talented artists to do what they do best and then record it to share. As much as I was dreading this project originally, since I was not too interested in trying to find people I didn’t know that well and didn’t know their skill level, I found great joy and satisfaction in being able to bring my cousin who is very talented at piano. I would like to let listeners know that she is great at what she does and should pay attention to her work.
